James Mullaly Third Generation - (third son)
James Mullaly, born ca 1854 in NY. James was listed as a student at 16 yrs. on 1870 Federal Census for Ticonderoga, Essex. co. NY. His father as Michael "Malaley." His mother could have been either Anna or Catherine.
Not much more is confirmed about James. Following are some leads that have yet to be verified:
In the St. Mary's Catholic Church Records had an baptismal entry, loosely translated from Latin:
11 May (1897) baptism of Mary Loretta Mullaly, child of James Mullaly (Jr.) and Mary Markham, sponsored by George L. Murray and Hannah Markham. Our James would have been about 43 yrs. at the birth of this baby, so this is more likely his granddaughter's birth.
In Nov. 1912 there is an entry in the Ticonderoga Sentinel newspaper in the Personal Notes column that reads: "Miss Anna Mullaly visited relatives in Rutland a few days this week." She
could be visiting James Mullaly Jr.'s family. James Jr. & his wife would have been between 33-40 yrs old, and their daughter would be 15.
In the Ticonderoga Sentinel newspaper on 17 Apr 1913 in the
Personal Mention column was this entry: "Mrs. James Mullaly of Rutland, spent a few days last week as a guest of Mrs. Ann Gilligan." Our James would have been 59 yrs old at this time, James Jr. & his
wife would have been between 34-41 yrs old, and Miss Mary Loretta would be 16 yrs old.
Lets say that James married between 1872 - 1879 (18-25 yrs. old.) He and his wife may have had at least one child:
- James Mullaly (Jr.), born from 1872-1879 Whom married Mary Markham and had a child:
- Mary Loretta Mullaly, born 11 May 1897.
