Mary G. Mullaly Third Generation - Third daughter of Patrick
Mary G. Mullaly, born 15 Feb. 1886 in Shoreham, Addison Co., VT. Her parents were Patrick D. and Mary J. Mullaly. She was first mentioned at age 14, born on Feb. 1886 in VT on
the 1900 Federal Soundex Census for NY. Cornelius P. was listed as the head of the household. [doc 9] The Clerk of Courts in Shoreham, VT have an
entry in their register that states "Mary Mullnally" as born there. [doc 7]
There are two pictures of Mary G. held by the family. One with her two sisters (she
is in the middle) [pic 6] and the other one is alone. [pic 9]
Mary G. was a school teacher before her marriage to Thomas J. Brady
on 28 Sept. 1911 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ticonderoga, Essex Co., NY. Thomas was born in Oxford, CT circa 1875 and worked as a Mechanical Engineer in Carteret, NJ at the time of their marriage.
Thomas's parents were Michael Brady & Catherine Fox, whom were both born before 1857 in Ireland. Witnesses at the wedding were Anna D. Mullaly & Leo F. Brady. [doc 8] St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ticonderoga, NY has a register entry for their marriage in Latin. [doc 19]
Mary G. and Thomas had a son,
Vincent C. Brady, on 10 Aug. 1912 in Ticonderoga, Essex co., NY while staying with Mary G.'s mother, Mary J. Mullaly. The Ticonderoga clerk's office has no records of Vincent's birth
but the birth was mentioned twice in the Ticonderoga Sentinel newspaper. "A son born Saturday, August 10th to Mr. & Mrs. T. J. Brady." "Mrs. T.J. Brady and son Vincent left Monday for New York,
after spending the summer with her mother, Mrs. M. J. Mullaly. She was accompanied by Mr. Brady, who has been spending a few days here." [doc 12]
[There is a picture
in the family that appears to be of Thomas Brady and son, Vincent, sitting on the front step in September 1906. [pic 10]
It appears to have been taken at the same house as the picture of Mrs. Mary J. Mullaly [pic 3] Mary G's mother and that picture is dated Sept. 28th. They both
could have been taken at family gathering to morn the death of Michael J. Mullaly, Mary G.'s father.]
The Brady's lived in Rutherford, Essex Co., NJ, at the time of Mary J.'s brother Cornelius's death in 1913. [doc 17] It was said by Dorothy Mullaly that one of the girls, Anna or Mary G., lived in E. Rutherford, NJ and made "Fancy hats for rich people." Both girls and mother could have owned and run the hat shop in 1913.
Mary G. and Thomas J. Brady had at least one son:
- Vincent C. Brady
They may have had more children..
